Having to place a parent in a long-term care facility is a hard situation for any family, but especially so when the children live far away. Pat was an invaluable resource when my brother and I had to find a long-term placement for our mother in Louisville while living in Michigan and Maryland, respectively. Pat’s knowledge of the various facilities and how well they would fit our mother’s particular needs was remarkable. When we made a selection, Pat stayed in regular contact with the facility and with us to ensure a smooth transition. He also spent considerable time getting to know our mother and visiting her when we were not in town. It was lovely to see him at the facility on Christmas Day when we arrived for our holiday visit!
